Your Role and Impact

  • As a Junior Editor at PMMI Media Group, you'll research, write, and post content for ProFood World, support the editorial process across multiple brands, and assist with digital content creation. You'll manage and monitor LinkedIn communities, create content from business intelligence reports, and contribute to major projects like PACK EXPO editorial coverage, researched lists, and robotics research.

  • This role offers a mix of content creation, proofreading, and project management in a collaborative environment, with opportunities to grow your editorial skills in B2B media.

  • Remote work with occasional Chicago-based meetings. Normal business hours required.

Summary of the Position: Full-time contract position assisting PMMI Media Group brands with writing, research, editing, and project management. Remote position with occasional in-person meetings in Chicago office as required. Contract-to-permanent role with successful completion of one-year anniversary.


Duties and Responsibilities:

ProFood World responsibilities

  • As assigned: Research, interview, write/produce, and post food processing content to ProFoodWorld.com (weekly).

  • Assist with proofreading print edition of ProFood World magazine and other assigned print content tasks (6x/year).

  • Research possible aggregate content or other pertinent story ideas and edit/post (weekly).

Brand-wide responsibilities:

  • Write and post PMMI Business Intelligence report content to pertinent brand sites. Prepare reports for download (weekly or as available).

  • Research and write 'Researched List' downloadable content as assigned (as needed).

  • Research possible aggregate content or other pertinent story ideas and edit/post (weekly).

  • Assist with finding pertinent ebook images on brand sites or Getty images (as needed).

  • Monitor and maintain LinkedIn Community Forum pages for ProFood World, Healthcare Packaging, and Packaging World (weekly).

  • Assist with coordination of robotics report research/content for Packaging World (1x year).

Assist with PACK EXPO editorial coverage as assigned (1x year, possibly 2x. Some travel may be required.)


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in journalism.

  • Two-years experience reporting for professional or college-level publication.

  • Digital competency and ability to learn new platforms.

  • Understanding of B2B publications and how they differ from B2C.

  • Proven entrepreneurial mindset with desire to create new and engaging content and build audience engagement.

Compensation

$55K to $65K based on experience. After successful completion of one-year, compensation to include benefits package and move to salaried/exempt status.
