Description:

Alaska Public Media, the state’s largest public media organization, is hiring five reporters as we launch a new collaborative to deepen our journalism statewide. It’s an exciting time of unprecedented expansion for public media journalism in Alaska.

These reporter jobs are a great opportunity for journalists who are eager to dive beyond press releases and meetings, and cover the most important issues in a fascinating state.

One of the reporters is based at Alaska Public Media, Anchorage’s NPR and PBS affiliate. The Anchorage Communities Reporter will join our city team and cover the communities and cultures that make up the state’s largest city.

The other four reporters will join our newly-launched collaborative called The Alaska Desk, funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. These reporters will work as a team to report on issues from fisheries to climate change to housing. The reporters will be based at one of our partner stations: KNBA in Anchorage, KUAC in Fairbanks, KUCB in Unalaska, KSDP in Sand Point, KUHB in St. Paul or KHNS in Haines.
