The Hobbs News-Sun is seeking a talented wordsmith to join our staff of writers in sunny southeast New Mexico. The News-Sun is an independently-owned, five-day-a-week daily newspaper. Our reporters cover everything from education to city/county government to police and courts with the ability to branch out on stories that peek their interest. We’re looking for reporters who can walk into a city council or school board meeting and walk out with a story and ideas for two or three more. And feature stories and in-depth enterprise reporting are actively encouraged. Photography experience as well as knowledge of the Adobe Suite of software including Photoshop and InDesign would be helpful but we’re willing to train the right person. Rookie reporters are encouraged to apply and there is the potential to move up within the News-Sun newsroom. This is a full-time position and salary is commensurate with experience.
