Nieman Storyboard, an online publication of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard, is seeking a new editor. Storyboard showcases exceptional narrative journalism and explores the craft and future of nonfiction storytelling through popular features such as story annotations, interviews with writers and producers, and tips from veteran storytellers working across different media – text, audio, visual.

This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate and knowledgeable about nonfiction storytelling in its myriad forms, as we seek to expand Storyboard’s range of stories to encompass new and evolving platforms for narrative journalism. Storyboard identifies and illuminates what makes for compelling storytelling, who some of its most skillful practitioners are, and how you can up your game.

The editor will commission and edit stories as well as write original pieces for posting on the Storyboard website and for promotion through social media channels, including a weekly online newsletter. New features will be published at least twice a week, along with shorter posts as warranted in response to news and developments around narrative nonfiction. The position reports to the Nieman Foundation’s deputy curator.

Candidates with at least five years of experience in print, broadcast, audio, or video are welcome to apply. The editor must have excellent writing and editing skills, work well independently and on deadline, and adhere to the highest standards of journalistic accuracy and ethics. Proficiency in WordPress, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other programs is a plus.
