About us:

The Santa Fe Reporter is celebrating its 50th year in 2024. After almost 30-years of ownership under the Portland-based group including the Willamette Week, the SFR recently returned to New Mexico-ownership as a part of the Ctrl+P Publishing group which includes Albuquerque’s weekly, The Paper., and 5 other local publications.

The SFR’s longest-serving employee who had served as interim editor during the sale and transition is remaining as a freelancer and all members of the staff are staying, including all team leads for production, sales and the arts/culture editor.

The SFR is a beloved weekly with a large and loyal digital and print readership. As the weekly in the state capital, SFR has routinely produced high-quality accountability journalism covering state government and politics. The new owners are committed to continuing this tradition while ensuring the traditional and award-winning local news, arts and events coverage remains strongly supported.

The new editor will be responsible for SFR’s editorial product and is supported by Ctrl+P’s publishing team managing sales, production and shared “back office” operations.

The ideal candidate has a strong local news background working with small teams who love punching above their weight.

The Ctrl+P Publishing group serves as a local news source for more than 200,000 subscribers across northern and central New Mexico and its publications and staff have won state and national awards for local reporting and design. It was proudly named one of New Mexico’s Top LGBTQ+-owned businesses by Albuquerque Business First (2023, 2024). We are strongly committed to developing new and early-career journalists and journalism leaders whose experiences and voices expand the diversity of newsrooms.
