Responsibilities

Freelancers will be copyediting batches of short book reviews in Microsoft Word docs, ensuring they comply with AP Style and Kirkus’ own style conventions. Turnaround generally needed in 24-48 hours.

Qualifications

Candidates must be careful, diligent copyeditors with magazine or newspaper experience. Knowledge of AP style is crucial, along with a predisposition to question where needed and consult the stylebook regularly. Flexibility of schedule and the ability to work quickly and independently are a plus.
