Reporter
A local newspaper seeks a reporter. The Reportrs job is to keep their eyes and ears open to what is going on in the community. This is a good job for someone who is curious and comfortable approaching strangers to ask questions. The Reporter is expected to spend a portion of their time in the newspaper office where the team can share ideas and plan through meticulous tasks. However, it is understood that a reporter will need to spend time outside the office for interviews, at meetings or in some cases writing or making calls from home. Requires having strong communicatioin skills and proficient in Google Docs and Microsoft Word.
Assignments will include:
- Performing background research on designated subjects
- Interviewing the public including officials and hierarchy of the community
- Writing
- Taking photos for publication
