Project Management Editor Job Description

Primary Objective:

                Manage and lead operational components for multiple publications                                                        90%

Expectations associated with the primary objective:

·         Manage author and editor communications

·         Assist in the implementation and oversight of our new editorial management system

·         Manage the Peer Review process

·         Work with the pre-screening editing team to ensure manuscripts are well-written, correctly formatted, and checked for required criteria before sending to our staff of physician editors

·         Document and maintain an accurate tracking system for all manuscripts

·         Develop, utilize, and share publication, author satisfaction, and scholarship reports consistently

·         Document member communications in CRM (customer relations management) system

·         Create quarterly project Board of Directors reports

·         Ensure authors move through the publication process in a timely manner to support the teaching of EBM (evidence-based medicine)

·         Enforce editorial deadlines to support dissemination and publication goals

·         Conduct calls with residency programs to support goals as needed

·         Communicate regularly with program champions

·         Actively participate, collaborate, and display leadership in workshop trainings and conferences

Secondary Objective:                                                                                                                                                                    10%

                Responsible for leading the web content needs for the organization

Expectations associated with the secondary objective:

·         Work in coordination with the team to assure website is current

·         Develop a content plan that addresses what content gets posted when, and where

·         Contribute to/update the company’s social sites like Facebook and LinkedIn at regular intervals

·         Work with technical partners to assess any technical challenges (troubleshooting) in displaying the content.

·         Help develop & document procedures to manage web content

·         Monitor social media outlets and respond on topics related to company/industry

·         Keep up-to-date with best practices in writing for the web, social media trends, web usability, web design, and business/industry trends

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or other applicable field

·         Verifiable track record of success in previous leadership positions

·         Excellent references

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office

·         Comfort with new technologies

·         Professional appearance

·         Ability to travel (approximately 6-15 nights per year)

Compensation Package including benefits:  $30,000-40,000
