Colorado Public Radio News is looking for someone to lead the news department into the digital world. This growing newsroom will launch a news website mid-summer and needs a leader who can build a team of three digital producers and work with broadcast reporters and editors to deliver a first-rate digital news experience.
We’re looking for someone who:
*is adept at writing for the web and social media
*has experience managing a digital news team to produce solid stories in text, photos and videos and curate the best material from other sites
*wants the chance to build from scratch a digital news team in a newsroom committed to supporting best practices and innovation
*knows how to smoothly integrate digital news into the workflow of a newsroom, and work with talented broadcast reporters, hosts and editors as they transition to including digital into their workflow
*would relish the challenge of leading the development of a web and social media presence for news, the interview program Colorado Matters, beats like education, government and health and the newly forming arts bureau with its own digital staff
*thrives in an environment where change and growth are the norm
*works well independently, but loves to collaborate
