Description:

Are you a savvy professional with a broad range of proven project and product management skills? Do you have a knack for identifying commercially viable conference topics that will attract large audiences? Are you a lifelong learner with deep intellectual curiosity who isn’t afraid to tackle technical topics? Can you write effectively for a wide variety of audiences?  Are you looking for a great job, growing company, and talented, committed coworkers?

If you answered yes to all of the above, we should meet.

We are Wellesley Information Services (WIS), a publishing and training organization that supports business and IT professionals worldwide by giving them many different resources to optimize their investment in technology. From in person events, B to B communities, to in-depth tutorials, knowledgebases, to video instruction, and more there’s a go-to resource packed with results-oriented information to meet our customers’ needs. Our goal is to provide the tools and information people need to be better and more productive, as well as to inspire them to continuously develop themselves professionally.

Challenge yourself, strive to succeed, and have fun!

Our employees aren't afraid to think creatively, volunteer for challenging projects, and hold themselves accountable for all they do. They strive to please our customers and go out of their way to help them as best they can, so we look for people with bright personalities and the drive to succeed. Does this sound like you? If so, read on!

At WIS, “content is king”.  Our passion and relentless dedication to providing quality content to our customers has led to our reputation for best-in-class conferences and the rave reviews we receive from attendees year after year.

As a Conference Producer/Content Developer, your role will be to:

  • Investigate in detail the educational needs of IT professionals in the markets we serve.  To do this, you will conduct telephone interviews, email surveys, and hold face-to-face meetings with our customers.
  • Based on research results, you will recommend commercially viable topics that would make strong conferences and seminars.
  • Identify the leading experts in the market and recruit those who are qualified to speak at the event. You will vet speakers through a process on written proposals and extensive telephone interviews.
  • Become the internal “subject matter expert” for the events that you produce through extensive customer research, reading related books and periodicals, and following online blogs and communities.
  • Develop seminar and conference sessions that are jam-packed with specific, valuable deliverables that will help our attendees better leverage the technology they’ve invested in, and plan for the future.
  • Write detailed marketing copy and session abstracts for Web sites and brochures
  • Advise the marketing and sales teams to maximize attendance at events, and the logistics teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Edit presentations for value, clarity, adherence to the published agenda, and density of information.

In this role, no two days will be alike, and you will be called upon to manage projects that require flexibility, strong organizational skills, extreme attention to detail, and a “whatever it takes” perspective. Some travel is required.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3+ years of solid experience in any number of roles requiring content development, research and analysis, product/project management, editorial, journalism or sales skills.  High tech experience is a plus.
  • Ability to think conceptually and distill complex information into clear, actionable topics and ideas
  • Instinct for spotting emerging trends and issues and understanding their relevance to our customer
  • Proven success delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Polished and effective communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • BA/BS in Journalism, Communications, or related field

If you’re the right candidate, you will become a key player on a creative, hard-working marketing team at a growing company.  At WIS, you'll be working with great people; and if you're like the majority of them, this will be the best place you've worked, and you'll stay for a long time.

WIS believes that our people are one of our most important assets, and we invest in them accordingly. We offer our employees’ health/dental/vision benefits, 401(k), Life and AD&D, FSA, ongoing professional development through WIS University and much more.  You’ll enjoy free, fresh bagels every Wednesday morning and all the coffee, fruit and snacks you need every day.
