We have an immediate need for an experienced online News Reporter to join our team, which specializes in coverage of client-specific news and activities, both in the Puget Sound area and worldwide. This full-time employee role will tell our client’s stories via feature articles and multimedia.

We’re looking for a versatile writer who will feel just as comfortable digging into the latest technology with a developer as talking with a high-level executive about a broader initiative. Our ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple writing assignments while bringing a fresh voice to the latest news via highly trafficked internal and external Web properties.

Responsibilities

• Writing a variety of assignments, including product launch news, human-interest stories, and feature articles, while communicating technical concepts in real-world language
• Taking photographs to illustrate your stories
• Shooting and editing videos for publication on the web and web portal applications
• Some evenings and occasional weekends required; travel once or twice a year for conferences and events

 Qualifications

• Expertise teasing out the compelling, credible angle on a story to drive reader interest, as demonstrated by work samples
• Excellent writing, communication, and planning skills
• Commitment to producing high-quality work on deadline
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders and managing several rounds of review
• An analytical mind and inquisitiveness to follow genuine news stories
• Be a motivated self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team

Other qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience as a journalist
• Ability to handle a fast-paced and changing work environment
• Ability to learn new technologies, concepts, and programs quickly and independently
• Solid experience with Microsoft applications
• Strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction
• Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills
