At HGTV's FrontDoor.com, we want to be the first to cover the juiciest news in the real estate world — high-dollar deals, outrageous homes for sale, celebrity house hunters — and we need talented reporters to help. We're seeking a freelance writer to find the most exciting stories in the Miami real estate scene and cover them in a way that's smart, fun and irresistibly clickable. Think real estate meets entertainment. The ideal candidate will have sharp reporting skills, a lively writing style and a go-getter attitude. Writers can expect above-market pay rates.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the first to know about the latest news in Miami real estate: What amazing home just hit the market? Which celebrities are buying or selling? What neighborhood is getting an incredible new housing development?
  • Make connections with the movers and shakers of the Miami real estate scene. You'll need a slew of reliable sources who can offer the first scoop on hot stories.
  • Write at least one story per week related to breaking news, trends or other timely topics.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in reporting on real estate or entertainment, preferably for the web.
  • Blogging experience and familiarity with WordPress or similar content management system.
  • A knack for writing sharp, clickable copy that's also optimized for search engines.
  • Ability to turn around accurate stories under tight deadlines.
  • An interest in real estate and a keen eye for timely, trendy stories.
  • Must live in the Miami area.
