National Geographic is seeking a Digital Editorial Specialist for Travel and Adventure  to research, write, copy edit, fact check, and perform editorial quality and usability testing on digital Travel and Adventure content. This position will work on includes articles, lists, quizzes, photo galleries, newsletters, special features, social media, and more. Project deadlines vary from minutes (for site updates and breaking content) to weeks (for large projects). The Digital Editorial Specialist is essential to the editorial flow of Travel and Adventure content, helping to speed the process of moving content and projects from conception to publication with an emphasis on quality, accuracy, accessibility, best Web practices, and search engine optimization.  The person will work closely with producers to create and edit the highest content quality across all digital platforms.

Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field. At least three years of experience writing and proofreading for digital content; experience working with content management systems and production cycles. Copy editing skills; basic HTML; familiarity with content management systems, best web practices, and SEO; excellent time management and communication skills; proficiency in social media platforms, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; highly organized; ability to manage resources and priorities; ability to manage multiple projects and consistently deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment.
