The Kenosha News is seeking a news reporting intern for the summer.
The paid, full-time internship is 10 weeks.
Applicants must be college sophomores, juniors or seniors in journalism.
Interns work covering a variety of beats, including police, government and major summer events. There is also opportunity to work on the copy desk, designing pages and editing stories. Interns will be expected to work some nights and weekends.
In addition, interns will be expected to produce video stories and voiceovers for our website and our online video news report.
This internship is very hands-on, with very little hand-holding, and demands applicants who can work as a contributing reporter from day one. Applicants who can demonstrate varied experience in reporting, either for college media or other media, will have the upper hand.
To apply, send a cover letter, resume and 5-7 published examples of your work, showing a range of experience (hard news, features, etc.).
The deadline is March 1. Selected interviews will begin after that.
