<i>GLASS: The UrbanGlass Art Quarterly</i> is currently seeking a qualified part-time editorial intern to contribute to our widely read blog as well as to the printed publication. Your time will be equally divided between writing assignments and assisting the managing editor with administrative tasks. This division is carefully deliniated as we take your career development seriously, so 50 percent of your time is reserved for research and writing. This is an ideal position for an up-and-coming writer looking to hone their critical writing skills in a supportive environment, that also offers the opportunity to see all aspects of the production of a high-quality art magazine.
Published continuously since 1979 by a New York City nonprofit art center, <i>GLASS</i> is the magazine of record for the most important sculpture and installations in the material, and is read in 50 countries around the world. We are looking for an intern who can work two to three days per week in our Brooklyn, New York, offices; the ideal candidate will have published clips that demonstrate critical thinking and solid writing structure. (Clips published in college newspapers, magazines, or Websites are fine.)
We offer the opportunity to develop your writing, research, and interviewing skills while building a portfolio through online and print articles. We ask that you also assist the managing edtior in the managment of our subscription database and fulfillment of magazine orders. The internship offers the opportunity to see first-hand how a small staff produces a quarterly glossy publication with the highest production values. If you need academic credit for the intership experience, we are more than willing to work with your university or college in filling out the necessary paperwork.
