We know hyperlocal journalism. For 17 years, Advocate magazines have been developing award-winning, neighborhood-oriented content, read by more than 200,000 Dallas residents each month. Our dedicated readers look to us for the stories that daily newspapers and regional magazines can``t or won``t publish.

Join our editorial staff for a fall, spring or summer internship that will give you plenty of hands-on experience. We``re looking for writers, photographers and young journalists interested in new media (blogging, website videos, podcasts, website development). Because we are a small company, we can offer only unpaid internships, but because we are a small company, interns have the chance to be involved in the meat of magazine work.

Qualifications: We prefer published clips from a professional publication, but clips from a university publication will be considered, too. Knowledge of the Dallas area is a significant plus.

For interns interested in new media, experience with blogging, video production and website development is encouraged.

There is no specified deadline for this internship; it is first-come, first-served as spots fill up for spring, summer and fall.
