California
Salary: Paid
Ad Expires:
October 13, 2010
Job ID: 1110026

The Point Reyes Light, Marin Country``s Pulitzer Prize winning weekly newspaper, is looking for reporting interns. The Light is located across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, on the overgrown, rambunctious coast, which is populated by iconoclasts, organic farmers, hermits, fisherman and freaks. They live amid redwoods and forrest creatures.

The Point Reyes Light is famous for its Pulitzer Prize, provocation and literary aspirations. Journalists should be brilliant, courageous and have a desire to live a life unshackled from the monitor, who desires to report from the field rather than behind a desk. Interns should aspire to produce work like Orwell, Didion and Kapuscinski.

The Point Reyes Light is a small, weekly newspaper, so interns should not be prima donnas. They are expected to produce three stories per week, write small briefs, take their own photographs, and help deliver the paper. In return, you will receive unparalleled clips and a $300 per month stipend to help cover reporting expenses. The internship is four months, and full-time.
