The Assistant Editor (Intern) heads up coordinating the writing of articles and managing columnists and writers at the direction of the Editor • Concept relevant story ideas and pitch them to the editor • Write story ideas assigned by the editor • Interact with site members and suggest blog ideas for appropriate members • Manages columnists and reminds them when columns are overdue • Assists the Editor in fleshing out stories by soliciting quotes from site members, and other resources • Coordinates writer deadlines and reminders
